Dear Colleagues,
unfortunately we have to give you a sad message today.
Dipl.Ing. Peter Petrich died on March 3rd on his 60th birthday after a short illness.
With the founding of the company Biotop in 1985 and clever marketing, Peter made the swimming pond known and opened up a completely new segment in gardening and landscaping. He soon brought the idea of “natural bathing” with his “Swimming-Teich” franchise system to Germany and from there to the whole world.
As a founding member of the Association of Austrian Swimming Pond Builders (VÖS), he worked for many years as a board member in the development work for the union of pond builders in Austria. His work in international associations has also been with us for a long time.
Peter Petrich will probably go down in history as the midwife of the swimming pond industry. We thank him for 35 years of commitment to the development and market establishment of natural bathing waters.
Our condolences go out to his family, friends and co-workers.

Certainly some feelings cannot be put into words, and to do justice to a person in words is subjective and therefore different for everyone.
On March 3rd, however, Peter Petrich who will certainly be sorely missed for a long time by his family, friends and colleagues, has passed away.
A passionate conservationist of nature and animal lover, a stunning creativity, never-ending curiosity for the inexhaustible kaleidoscope of human possibilities, empathy, a sensitivity that was at times very wounded. Ready to always see the comedy of situations, but with an attentive soul.
Fooling yourself, constantly trying to expand and improve your own capacities, self-criticism and all-over-throwing humour. Theater courses as an alternative holiday destination, surfing in Portugal, climbing in the mountains, absolutely capable of going on stage in a one-man show … also with huge success.
A volcanic eruption of ideas, initiatives and surprises that also spread into his work.
Ohh yes, I almost forgot: Peter Petrich was also one of the decisive natural pool pioneers, one of the fathers of the swimming pond industry, founder and managing director of BIOTOP, now the global market leader for natural pools and swimming ponds, founded by him 35 years ago.
Anyone who got to know Peter Petrich, no matter on what occasion and in what ambience, will hardly forget him.
